North, Latin, and South Americans interested in the Admiral and Tecnomar brands of megayachts can meet with the yard a little closer to home. The Italian Sea Group now has a Fort Lauderdale office.
Francesco Carbone (left), who has been vice chairman of the Group for the past several years, is now based there, located at 401 East Las Olas Boulevard. As such, he’s also serving as president of the Italian Sea Group Americas. “There is an increasing interest in our yachts in the Americas, so we have to establish our presence there,” Carbone says. “We have already built several amazing superyachts for American owners, and I very much look forward to working more closely with them, along with American brokers and captains.”
Among the reasons The Italian Sea Group is attracting buyers from this side of the Atlantic: the relationships it has with top-tier designers. There are both new builds and concepts conceived with Philippe Briand, Luca Dini, Dobroserdov Design, and Vripack, among others. Furthermore, The Italian Sea Group has an interiors division. And, the yard is capable of building megayachts to 246 feet (75 meters). In fact, it has a yacht of that LOA under construction now, with a gross tonnage exceeding 2,000, branded as an Admiral. She’s set for delivery in 2018 and at that time will become the largest Admiral to date.
Besides the above-mentioned new-build brands, The Italian Sea Group also owns NCA, a refit and repair company.
