A 78-foot (23.9-meter), trawler-style motoryacht bearing an interior by Hot Lab Yacht & Design is about a month away from hand over to her owners. The project is known simply as the ATM 24M.
The steel-hulled yacht has that name partly due to her shipyard being ATM Yacht & Design. Established in Turkey in 2004, the builder is unfamiliar to most Americans, and indeed a number of other yacht owners. Thus far ATM Yacht & Design has delivered three yachts, including two sailing superyachts constructed via cold-molding.
Even as the yard’s second motoryacht, the ATM 24M is much different than the sporty boat that preceeded her by a few years. She bears a 19’7” (6-meter) beam and accommodations for six in the owners’ party and four crewmembers. Overall, Hot Lab has executed a subdued, contemporary decor, with chocolate-stained wood soles characterizing the saloon and dining area (above).
You may think that 78 feet doesn’t provide a lot of room for personalization, but the ATM 24M breaks with tradition in a few ways. Just two guest staterooms are aboard, both below decks. Also different: The master is forward on the main deck, essentially unheard of for this LOA. Seen just below, it benefits from the shippy ports, the latter of which are better seen in the rendering at top. Note, too, the intimate seating/dining spot nestled against the house. And, since the master occupies the main deck, the ATM 24M’s helm is one level up. Notable here are sliding glass panels to allow the captain to enjoy cool breezes.
Even as a trawler, the ATM 24M is still a superyacht. You’ll therefore find alfresco areas devoted to dining and sunning. Biminis can be extended out over the table and full-beam sunpads aft on the bridge deck, too. Hot Lab is responsible for these areas, too.
Powered by twin 500-hp Volvo Penta engines, the ATM 24M should perform much as her trawler styling suggests. A cruise speed of 10 knots and top speed around 12 knots are expected.
