Most details are being kept under wraps, as per the wishes of the owners, but Heesen Yachts will be building a fully custom 51-meter (167-footer), known as YN 18151. The shipyard signed the contract just last week. In fact, we learned about it the day the deal was inked, during a visit to Heesen, though we had just the LOA and hull number until now.
Styling and interior design is from Eidsgaard Design. YN 18151 marks the first time the shipyard and design studio are collaborating. Neither Heesen nor Eidsgaard have released exterior or interior renderings. For now, Heesen says the profile of the megayacht is “svelte.” She’ll have accommodations for 10 in the owners’ party and 10 crew, too, within a 29’5” (9-meter) beam. It may be safe to assume, though, that YN 18151 will additionally incorporate some of the most popular features found aboard modern yachts, such as balconies and/or a beach club. Gross tonnage will be beneath the 500-ton threshold.
Since Heesen is known for performance-oriented semi-displacement megayachts, it comes as no surprise that YN 18151 is following suit. The shipyard anticipates she’ll reach a top speed of 25 knots under half load. Power will come from twin MTU 16V 4000 M93L diesels. A fuel capacity just over 14,661 gallons (55,500 liters) will ensure a variety of ports are within the owners’ reach. So, too, will the draft: 8’2” (2.5 meters). Heesen additionally anticipates that YN 18151 will have a best range of 2,425 nautical miles at 11 knots.
The delivery date for the all-aluminum YN 18151 has not been revealed.
