The last stage of OneOcean Port Vell’s development in Barcelona is underway. Come next summer, eight additional berths will join the existing 150.
The expansion began this month, near the glass-clad Torre de Control building on the property. The slips should be completed next August. OneOcean Port Vell (formerly known as Marina Port Vell) will welcome megayachts from 98 to 262 feet (30 to 80 meters) in those eight new slips. This complements OneOcean Port Vell’s existing berths for megayachts to 623 feet (190 meters).
Concurrently, landscaping, lighting, security, and utilities are also being improved. And, of course, owners, crew, and guests who occupy the new slips (for sale and lease) will have access to OneOcean Port Vell’s variety of services. These include the members-only OneOcean Club, pictured above. They also include the fitness, wellness, and business centers in the Gallery building. A crew lounge and a restaurant and tapas bar are also on OneOcean Port Vell’s property.
A further attraction of OneOcean Port Vell: It’s walking distance to the heart of Barcelona. That, combined with mild winter weather, may explain why the marina reports 80 percent capacity this season.
