To underscore its relationship to OneOcean Ventures, Barcelona-based Marina Port Vell has been renamed OneOcean Port Vell. Related to this, OneOcean PortVell, its members’ club, and is wellness center are collectively being branded under the name OneOcean Barcelona.
You may recall that last autumn, OneOcean Ventures was formed by Salamanca Group, which owns the marina; MB92, located next to the marina; and Rybovich, the famed U.S. refit yard. The idea is to collectively raise yachting’s profile among more ultra-high-net-worth individuals. (Research from a few wealth-oriented organizations shows that only a small percentage of the people who can afford megayachts actually own them.) Related to this, OneOcean Ventures is striving to provide yacht owners and non-owners with facilities and services that high-end clients expect. Wayne Huizenga, Jr., president of Huizenga Holdings, which owns Rybovich, put it this way: “No one needs a yacht, so it has to be a great experience.” Martin Bellamy, chairman of Salamanca Group and OneOcean, added, “If we’re going to demonstrate to the industry that we’re serious, we need to show that this business has real substance.”
Under the new name, the OneOcean Club, which has been the name for the members’ club at the marina, remains the same. The fitness and wellness centers in the Gallery building on the OneOcean Port Vell property are being called OneOcean Wellness.
The services that have been offered at the marina for the past few years are not changing, however. OneOcean Port Vell still has 148 berths and can accommodate megayachts to 623 feet (190 meters). Berths are available for sale and lease. Yacht owners and guests have access to the above-mentioned Wellness benefits plus a business center. Yacht crew have a dedicated crew lounge. The restaurant and cocktail bar remain as well.
And, of course, OneOcean Ventures is continuing to use OneOcean Port Vell as a showcase for what the yachting lifestyle is about. Representatives can provide consultation for newcomers on maintenance and construction, charter, and more.
