Mulder Shipyard is steadily proving that its expansion a few years ago was worth the effort. It’s begun building a 118-footer (36-meter) that will surpass the recently delivered Solis as its largest yacht. For now, the project is just called the Mulder 36-meter motoryacht.
The LOA isn’t the most important aspect. She’s further incorporating the Fast Displacement Hull Design created by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. This proven design provides good fuel economy through the entire speed range, not only at slower displacement speeds. The Mulder 36-meter motoryacht should see a top end of 17 knots and have transatlantic range, too.
She’ll further meet RINA classification and the MCA’s LY3 standards. LY3 is particularly important for charter purposes, should the owners make her available. The Mulder 36-meter motoryacht additionally will have good volume, just below 300 gross tons.
Mulder Shipyard and Claydon Reeves, the interior design studio the owners selected (at Mulder’s recommendation), plan to make the most of that volume. Five staterooms will accommodate the owners’ party, more than you might expect of a yacht this size. The owners’ suite will be on the main deck, occupying the full beam (26’3”, or 8 meters). It will feature a private alfresco area, too.
Guests will get to enjoy semi-alfresco meals on the main deck, thanks to a balcony that will deploy off the dining area. Fully alfresco dining will take place up on the flying bridge or on the main aft deck. Post-dinner cocktails can be enjoyed in the eight-person hot tub.
The Mulder 36-meter motoryacht will additionally have a beach club bigger than commonly seen. It’s being outfitted with a day head and seating. Watertoys are to include a Williams DieselJet tender and two PWCs.
Expect the megayacht to splash next summer.
