To say that Grey Falcon really flies is no play on words. The newest Continental Two yacht from Van der Valk Continental Yachts reportedly tops out at 32 knots. Despite being number 19 in the series, Grey Falcon is faster than most. She’s also faster than most Van der Valk yachts, period.
Even while cruising, powered by a triple Volvo Penta IPS package, the 76-footer (23.2-meter) is quick. Van der Valk says she hits 25 knots. And, she is capable of more than just short cruises. She should see 810 nautical miles at just a hair over 11 knots.
Speed isn’t the only thing that Grey Falcon offers her owners. The contemporary ambiance inside suits her name, characterized by grey-stained oak and rich wenge. Granite, suede, and leather also appear throughout. There’s a comfortable look and feel aboard the yacht, given the 17’7” (5.4-meter) beam.
The open nature of the main deck also helps. It keeps conversations flowing from the saloon to the helm. Guests can continue chatting with the captain outside, too. (A crew of two are housed aboard, and they have their own mess with pantry, too.) The flying bridge of Grey Falcon has an extra steering station. Opposite it, a good-size sunlounge beckons. A wetbar is convenient to both.
Come nighttime, the owners and up to four friends and family can retire down below. The VIP (at top) and a twin stateroom take care of guests. Despite what you might think of her LOA, Grey Falcon tucks an office into the full-beam master.
Further despite what you might think, not all Continental Two yachts are the same LOA as Grey Falcon. Van der Valk has an 88’6” (27-meter) version in build for another customer.
