Hot rod enthusiasts among you surely recognize the name Edelbrock. The California-based company is a global giant in the automotive and motorcycle aftermarket parts industry. But, did you know that the late Vic Edelbrock, Jr. (above), who just passed away this month, was also a passionate megayacht owner?
Our editor, Diane M. Byrne, recalls that passion in this month’s MegayachtNews.com newsletter. She interviewed Edelbrock twice in her career, first for his 89-footer VictorE, and second for his 110-foot Victorious. “Edelbrock’s unabashed joy of cruising and creating something truly personal came through as clear as day in the tone of his voice,” she writes. She also mentions how Edelbrock shared a “heartwarming, and hilarious, story” about commissioning Victorious.
On the lighter side, in this month’s MegayachtNews.com newsletter, we also tell you about Ulysses’ record-breaking refit. The massive megayacht completed some major works in an eyebrow-raising short period. Furthermore, we tell you about the newly delivered Sorceress. This sailing superyacht, from Southern Wind Shipyard, is hull number one in the SW96 series. “She sails like a dinghy,” according to the owner of hull number two.
