A decade ago, Marine Money International turned its attention to superyachts. The company offers publications and seminars for shipping-industry firms as well as ship owners and their advisors. It regularly raises awareness of important financial issues. Similarly, in yachting, Marine Money International identified an opportunity. The result was the Superyacht Finance Forum. It was the first of its kind in the superyacht sector. This September, the forum returns, with a lineup of speakers and topics that superyacht lawyers, owners’ reps, lenders, and more will find valuable.
This year’s edition of the Superyacht Finance Forum is at the Café de Paris on September 26. While the Marine Money International staff is still finalizing presenters, some of the topics are set. For example, you’ll get an overview of the past year’s activity among new-build contracts, deliveries, brokerage deals, and related transactions. In addition, expect to learn the latest changes to tax/VAT policies throughout Europe. Certain to be of interest: the impact of Brexit. Yet another subject under serious consideration: the implications of the recent French social security law and resulting lawsuit. (For a primer on how this is impacting crew and owners alike, see “Visiting France? Your Crew Will Have to Pay French Social Security.”)
The Marine Money International staff should have the lineup of presentations posted on its website within the next few weeks. In the meantime, to register for the Superyacht Finance Forum, visit the dedicated webpage. (Note that discounts are available for current Marine Money magazine subscribers. So, too, can you register an extra delegate for free if already registering three delegates.) For a further sense of the subjects that the forum typically covers, you can review the 2016 presentations and even download audio files for each of them.
Full disclosure: MegayachtNews.com is a media sponsor for this year’s event.
