In recent years, Baglietto has broadened its appeal by collaborating with a few designers for the first time. Simultaneously, together, they’ve created some ready-to-build concepts. This lets customers step into a contract with more ease. Santa Maria Magnolfi is one such design studio with which Baglietto is broadening its reach. Strengthening their relationship even more, they now have a third project ready to go, this 164-foot (50-meter) V-Line megayacht.
Baglietto announced the V-Line in 2016. The series centers on the 131- to 164-foot (40-to 50-meter) market. By working with multiple leading designers, Baglietto offers diversity in styling and interior design. Every V-Line megayacht, of course, features a tested hull design, from the builder’s own tech department. Flared as well as vertical bows are available, as is strong, somewhat militaristic styling, a thematic tie to Baglietto’s past.
As mentioned, Baglietto has already promoted two designs by Santa Maria Magnolfi. The first was the 55M V-Line, measuring 180 feet. A smaller, but still sleek, 41-meter/135-footer followed. With the 164-foot model, the builder and design studio pay homage to Baglietto’s past while embracing current trends, too. For example, the low-profile superstructure echos a Baglietto design from 1988, Chato. At 85 feet (26 meters), Chato looked as fast as she cruised, topping out upwards of 60 knots. Santa Maria Magnolfi keeps that muscular character, yet smooths it out for sophisticated appeal.
Surely, you’ll note the abundance of glass in that superstructure as well. That’s definitely a modern trend. But, the decks are still walk-around, to make the crew’s job easier. (Some other glass-dominant designs on the market eliminate walk-around decks, to prioritize views.) The walk-around decks also benefit the owner and guests, since a lounging area sits toward the foredeck.
Baglietto and Santa Maria Magnolfi naturally plan to personalize the interior design and arrangement with a buyer. For inspiration, note that the master need not be the only main-deck stateroom. In fact, a good-size VIP can sit just aft of it. Alternately, the space can be a gym. Either way, four guest staterooms still easily fit below decks. Also either way, the master can encompass 646 square feet (60 square meters) and feature a skylight. Add in the beach club, a tender garage, and more relaxation space, and you’re all set.
