First it was the launch of Turquoise for a repeat buyer in late January. Then came Talisman C in late March. Now Proteksan Turquoise has Vicky being readied for final fit-out, marking its third launch of the year.
The photo here shows the three yachts, along with Yogi, which hit the water last fall. Specifically, left to right are Vicky (with her transom toward the camera), Talisman C, Yogi, and Turquoise. While all four will be delivered this year, Talisman C and Vicky are of special note since they are the newest.
Talisman C features styling and interior design by H2 Yacht Design. Having worked with both the yard and the owner previously, the team was well versed in meeting the specific needs of each. Of course, there were still challenges, with Talisman C being Proteksan Turquoise’s largest megayacht launch at the time. LOA is 72 meters (236 feet). Furthermore, the owner wanted an extra alfresco space atop the sundeck—akin to a crow’s nest. This, plus more than one tender garage and a fold-down transom, were new features in comparison to the previous collaborations. Recent sea trials revealed Talisman C exceeds her contract speed: She hit 18.3 knots, 1.3 knots more than required of her 2,447-hp Caterpillar power package.
As for Vicky, shown here entering the completion shed, she edges out Talisman C as Proteksan Turquoise’s largest-ever project, by 0.64 meter (two feet). She’ll have a similar engine package and an anticipated 17-knot top end and 15-knot cruise. Range should be 4,000 nautical miles at 15 knots and upwards of 7,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Also like Talisman C, she features the handiwork of H2 Yacht Design. Early interior renderings show a Zen-like massage room and rich woods throughout, much different than the Art Deco elements and three-deck-tall chandelier aboard Talisman C.
We’ll have more photos of the yachts in the coming weeks.
