In the words of Rossinavi’s COO, Vector 50 is a “step change” for the Italian shipyard. The 160-foot (48.8-meter) megayacht marks the third Rossinavi signed for an American owner in the past seven years.
While the design has, of course, been in the works for a while, the client signed the contract during last month’s Miami Yacht Show. Meant for a top speed of 19 knots and cruising speed of 15 knots, Vector 50 bears styling by Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi. Note the streamlined, sporty silhouette and the plumb bow, for example. A trideck megayacht, Vector 50 further has floor-to-ceiling glass along the main deck. Portions of that glass slide open, too, for better enjoying the surroundings.
As for those surroundings, the owner is keen to cruise primarily in the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and in South Florida. In fact, the owner plans to venture into Miami’s interior waterways. For this reason, and for Bahamian cruising, Vector 50 has a shallow draft close to seven feet (a bit more than two meters).
Unfortunately, Rossinavi is not releasing many specifics about the interior design or arrangement. For now, it just says that Vector 50 accommodates an owner’s party of 12. Eight crewmembers join the captain in taking care of operations. In addition, the yard does say that beam spans 29’2” (8.9 meters). Because she’s an American-owned megayacht made for American cruising, major systems are all made-in-USA products.
Federico Rossi, Rossinavi’s COO, says the 500-gross-ton megayacht signals a major development for the yard. “This boat is a step change for Rossinavi,” he explains. “With the increasing and significant interest the shipyard is receiving from the American market, we are working to finds ways to collaborate with American suppliers in the production of completely tailor-made vessels.”
Vector 50 sees delivery in 2020.
