Megayachts make it possible to venture to places you’ve long wanted to visit. They also make it possible to venture to places you may never have imagined you’d visit. In this spirit, Mondomarine is enticing yacht buyers with a new series, which blends styling of adventurous explorers with that of more traditional Italian cruisers (a.k.a. navetta). The Mondomarine Discovery series lets you choose among a handful of sizes, all in aluminum.
In fact, the Mondomarine Discovery series has four models: the 43, 50, 57 (pictured, above and below), and 75. Each name designates the length in meters. Those figures convert to 141, 164, 187, and 246 feet, respectively. In addition, each yacht offers expansive alfresco areas along with interior areas emphasizing relaxed living and appreciation of your surroundings. So, for instance, you’ll find oversize panes of glass in rooms like saloons and staterooms, to better enjoy anchorages (or, of course, voyaging from one to another). Pools are yet another must-have feature, as are balconies and private seating/sunning areas.
The first model that Mondomarine is showcasing is the Discovery 57. The shipyard worked with Luca Dini Design for the styling as well as the interior layout. To lend the yacht a somewhat serious look, the team chose a dark, blue-tinged color scheme for the hull and superstructure. Simultaneously, the team feels the color emphasizes the lines of the design.
For creature comforts, the Mondomarine Discovery 57 includes two different pools. One adorns the aft deck, with a glass aft wall for an infinity effect. The other, meanwhile, sits way up top and fully forward. You’ll further find a handful of shaded and full-sun seating/relaxing zones across the decks. Plus, the yacht has a beach club right at the water’s edge.
For flexibility, staterooms can be arranged in different ways. Traditionalists may want four guest accommodations below decks, with a main-deck master suite. But, you might prefer more cabins for more friends and family. In addition, you might prefer treating someone as a Very Important Person. Therefore, the Mondomarine Discovery 57 can alternately place a VIP suite to starboard on the main deck, accompanying the owners’ suite.
Regardless of what you ultimately decide, you get six crew cabins below decks and a captain’s cabin aft of the wheelhouse. And you have deck space on the foredeck and near the beach club to stow tenders and toys.
Mondomarine has not disclosed anticipated speed or range data, but indicates that transatlantic voyages are possible.
