The first day of June saw a special, private celebration at Codecasa. The owners of Regina d’Italia, a 213-footer (65-meter), celebrated the launch of their new yacht.
The 950-gross-ton megayacht was relatively confidential while under construction, known just as Codecasa Hull F74. She represents the fourth launch in the Codecasa 65 series (so-named for her length in meters). Therefore, Regina d’Italia shares a technical platform with those yachts, including a beam of 36’7″ (11.2 meters) and a steel displacement hull. In addition, under Caterpillar power, she should enjoy a transatlantic range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Maximum speed should be 17 knots.
Regina d’Italia, whose owners are Italian and are flagging her the same way, has creature comforts to entice a party of 12. A few are on the sundeck, in fact. Here, they can lounge or swim laps in a pool. It’s a nice-size pool, too: 16’4″ by 6’6″ (5 meters by 2 meters). For alternate exercise, the gym is on this level. Elsewhere, two of the six staterooms are master suites. Codecasa is still keeping details about the decor confidential. It has, however, revealed that the owners worked with M2 Atelier on the interior. The Milan-based studio designs yachts as well as private residences.
Interestingly, Regina d’Italia features a few systems to ensure she has a low impact on the environments in which she cruises. For instance, she uses biodegradable oil for some equipment. Furthermore, she incorporates a ballast-water treatment system as well as a bilge-water treatment system. Naturally, similar to some other megayachts, she has a refrigerated cold room for garbage. Also like others, she has a sewage-treatment system.
With styling and naval architecture by Codecasa, Regina d’Italia complies with the highest classifications of RINA and Lloyds.
