Details on the first model in a new range for Pershing will be available in two months, at the first significant boat show of the new year. So, too, will images. However, the shipyard is making some pretty big claims to drum up interest in advance. It says the TØ Project range (pronounced “tee-zero”) is “disruptive,” representing “avant-garde yachting” and promising something yet unseen in the entry-level to midrange megayacht market.
To be clear, the TØ Project range still stays true to the history of Pershing. Therefore, expect the yachts to still be sports yachts. In addition, longtime design partner Fulvio De Simoni lends his stylistic pen to the lines. Of course, the Ferretti Group’s own in-house design and engineering departments are contributing, too.
We don’t yet know, however, whether the models will feature flying bridges or be open-style designs. Regardless, Pershing says the looks and sizes meet new requests from clients. They will also keep a family feel, yet have a stylistic identity of their own. As for the sizes, they span 82 to 131 feet (25 to 40 meters).
In terms of creature comforts, Pershing plans to maximize usable volume, plus open even more areas to the surrounding marine environments. Finally, the TØ Project range promises to incorporate new technology. This could pertain to performance, for which Pershing is famous. This also could pertain to fuel economy, considering more yacht builders and more yacht clients are striving to be better stewards of the environment.
Pershing plans to unveil the first TØ Project range model at Boot Düsseldorf, which is set for this time in January 2020.
