Raised-pilothouse motoryachts never go out of style. Neither, for some yacht buyers, does a healthy turn of speed. The Crescent 117, which celebrated her launch at Crescent Custom Yachts this week, combines both of these.
The Crescent 117, a.k.a. the Crescent 117 Fast Pilothouse due to her anticipated 29-knot top speed, is a spec project. With Greg Marshall’s design studio as the stylist and naval architect, the megayacht pairs a sporty profile with this spirited performance. The hull design and a pair of 2,735-hp MTUs should additionally permit a 24-knot expected cruising speed.
With an LOA of 117 feet (35.66 meters) and a 24-foot (7.32-meter) beam, the megayacht is for a party of 10 to enjoy. Clearly, buyers can change the interior to suit their personal style. For now, and to appeal to contemporary tastes, though, the Marshall studio selected grey-stained wood soles and cabinetry. Stone lines countertops inside and outside, too.
For broader appeal, the general arrangement is pretty traditional. You’ll therefore find the master suite forward on the main deck, and four guest staterooms below decks. Two of them are kings, while the other two are twins. Three crew cabins for five capable hands are below decks as well.
In keeping with cruisers spending most of their time outside, the Crescent 117 makes alfresco areas welcoming. A large sunpad welcomes sun worshippers or horizon spotters to the foredeck, for example. Up top, the flying bridge has a nice combination of sun and shade. The hot tub takes advantage of the latter, while the large seating area takes advantage of the former, beneath a hardtop. That hardtop, though, additionally has three big skylights, a nice touch.
The Crescent 117 is available for sale, via Northrop & Johnson. Sea trials are pending, prior to the yacht making her global debut at the Seattle Boat Show in late January.
