A two-year-old event that thus far has been exclusively in Barcelona is now coming to the United States. The Superyacht Experience Palm Beach is part of an attempt to make a more client-focused experience for yacht buyers and charter guests.
Initiated in Spain in 2018, The Superyacht Show arose due to input and oversight by the Large Yacht Brokers Association (LYBRA), a trade organization comprised of brokerage firms. LYBRA is behind The Superyacht Experience Palm Beach, too. There is, though, a difference this time, the additional involvement of two more organizations. One is the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), a trade group representing select builders worldwide. The other organization is the Superyacht Life Foundation. It strives to educate the non-superyacht-owning public about cruising aboard and owning these large yachts.
The Superyacht Experience Palm Beach will take place March 25 to 29 at the Rybovich Marina. Although specific yachts are not yet named, the event will include both ones for sale as well as ones for charter. Clients, their representatives, and their brokers will have a more private overall experience. “No crowds, no queues, no trade stands,” says Raphael Sauleau, president of LYBRA. “Just a relaxed, elegant, and enjoyable experience for all.” Some of the world’s top shipyards will show new designs and developments in on-land displays, too.
Sauleau explains that the two Barcelona events have proven that customers do want a more client-centric show. “Rybovich’s purpose-built superyacht facility is already home to many of the largest private yachts in the world,” he continues. “It’s therefore a natural place for us to invite and host yacht owners, buyers, and charterers.”
The news comes on the heels of an announcement from the organizers of the annual Palm Beach International Boat Show. They have created Superyacht Show Palm Beach, taking place at the nearby Flagler Museum. It, however, runs March 26 to 28.
