Ocean Alexander has shared the first photo of hull number one of its Explorer series in the water. The 89-foot (27-meter) Ocean Alexander 27E promises to put destinations thousands of miles away within reach. The megayacht additionally provides abundant luxury space.
The builder revealed its plans for the series and artists’ renderings from Evan K. Marshall, its longtime design partner, earlier this summer. One of the more notable details, for instance, is the deep swim platform. Buyers of the Ocean Alexander 27E who love watertoys will be happy to see room enough for a few PWCs. Even with the toys lined up, though, the platform preserves space to walk around them for launch and retrieval. A standard crane to port, plus the swim platform being hydraulically operated, makes the process simpler.
You can put those toys in waters you’ve never visited due to an anticipated range up to 2,100 nautical miles. That is nearly the equivalent of the nautical miles separating Boston, Massachusetts and the Pacific side of the Panama Canal, for example. The power package making it possible is a pair of 1,650-hp MANs. In keeping with fiberglass megayachts around her size, the Ocean Alexander 27E preserves a pretty shallow draft, too, a maximum 4’2” (1.25 meters). Therefore, you will have no issue practically pulling up to a secluded shore, to enjoy quite the private experience.
Part of that experience comes inside the yacht as well. Bearing a beam of 20’7” (6.29 meters), the Ocean Alexander 27E re-creates the voluminous spaces that make its Revolution series a success. Both the open floorplan on the main deck and the large seating area in the skylounge should feel bigger as a result. The shipyard and Marshall chose to put all four staterooms, including the master, below decks to help, yet without cramping their style.
You can entertain in style as well outside. In fact, Ocean Alexander says the mezzanine-like aft deck and swim platform comprise about 225 square feet (20.9 square meters) of dining, sitting, and playing space.
The Ocean Alexander 27E is still set to debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
