Sometimes, a change of plans forces an owner’s hands. The 92-foot (28-meter) Hargrave G-G, only about a year old, is on the market for that reason. The megayacht’s modern styling and true custom approach likely will make some yacht buyers take a whole new look at Hargrave Custom Yachts.
Built in Turkey at HSY Shipyard, an affiliate of Hargrave, G-G is far different in profile that previous deliveries. While many of its clients like more traditional designs, this customer gravitates towards floor-to-ceiling glass and contemporary, even chiseled lines. In fact, the owner studied several similar-looking semi-custom designs when he decided to build about three years ago. However, he ultimately decided a fully custom project suited him. The Hargrave G-G therefore is a three-deck skylounge design, on a Jack Sarin hull form.
Further noteworthy, the yacht has a somewhat unusual wheelhouse. While the five-screen console is in keeping with current trends, far larger yachts tend to have two wing stations the way that this megayacht does.
With a beam of 23’3” (7.1 meters), G-G features an equally contemporary decor, the result of the owner working closely with Yacht Interiors by Shelley. The owner wanted a relaxed and comfortable ambience while still looking and feeling sophisticated. Part of the more casual feel comes from an opening partition between the galley and dining area on the main deck.
Casual entertaining is the guiding principle for alfresco areas, too. The Hargrave G-G has a bar on the main aft deck situated in a way that guests seated at the typical U-shape area are part of the conversation. Sunpads and another U-shape settee nestled against the deckhouse forward, meanwhile, are ideal for afternoons hanging on the hook. Finally, the intimate beach club—which includes a head—is a dedicated waterside lounge, not a double-duty tender garage. For service convenience, it’s accessible directly from the crew’s quarters, too.
The Hargrave G-G is listed at $8.35 million.
