One of the owners of Botti has a problem, which most people might agree is a good problem to have. He says, “I can’t sleep at night due to the excitement of watching my vessel be built brick by brick!” That sleep deprivation should end when Botti sees delivery from Moonen this coming February.
The 118-foot (36-meter) megayacht is a Martinique model, a sistership to projects like Kokoro and Brigadoon. Therefore, she features naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design and styling by René van der Velden. Even though she’s a sistership, she does have some structural differences. For instance, the owners wanted a longer sundeck, to provide more space for a soothing hot tub. As a result, the deck is about eight feet (2.5 meters) longer and encompasses about 700 square feet (65 square meters).
One deck below, meanwhile, Botti has a winter-garden-like skylounge. The room has opening glass doors aft and opening glass sides, making it an extension of the alfresco deck space when the weather is nice. A handy day head is on this deck, too.
Of course, the owners, who are repeat customers of Moonen, wanted to tailor the interior to their way of living as well. (They spent nearly four years cruising aboard a Moonen 84.) They collaborated with Studio Indigo for a master suite that the shipyard says has real wow factor. The owners also wanted their captain to have a nice cabin, on the bridge deck. And, their eight guests have a welcoming entrance area outside of their four staterooms below decks.
Since Botti shares her hull design with her predecessors, she promises a range of 4,000 nautical miles range at 10 knots. The Caterpillar engines additionally should permit a 14-knot cruising speed.
