The creators behind Bajío Sunglasses weren’t just inspired to create eyewear especially for those who enjoy fishing saltwater flats. In Spanish, bajío (pronounced bah-hee-oh) actually means “shallows,” and the shallows are at the heart of everything the company does. In fact, it has committed itself to protecting saltwater flats around the world.
Based in Florida, Bajío Sunglasses makes every decision about sourcing materials, manufacturing, and shipping based on sustainability. For example, it uses coconut husks for its frames. It only partners with factories that use bio-based materials, too, along with fair-labor practices. Cactus “leather,” meanwhile, wraps around its protective eyewear cases.
