Greek and Turkish cruising grounds have been on the itinerary for Golden Yachts’ Project X over the past week. The owner of the 3,400-gross-ton superyacht just took delivery. While the profile grabs the attention of those who see her, those onboard get to experience their surroundings in a special way.
With styling by Ken Freivokh, the 289-footer (88-meter) has a series of stacked Xs alongside her superstructure. These became among her most-talked-about design details, in fact, when she splashed in April. The Xs camouflage significant panes of glass, lending a little privacy while simultaneously still allowing guests to enjoy the views. A three-deck-high atrium sits behind the glass, with a glass elevator traveling within it. Notably, Golden Yachts asserts that the elevator is among the largest glass lifts aboard any private yacht. Topping it all off—literally—is a glass skylight.
Further special, each of the nine guest staterooms has its own color scheme. The owner worked with Massari Design to ensure these distinctive looks still complemented the overall ambience onboard. Golden Yachts’ Project X puts lounges with full-height glass at their disposal, plus a full-beam office/conference room if work is necessary. On the upper deck forward, it has panoramic views, too. Plus, it has an adjacent room for an assistant. For a different type of work—a workout—the sundeck has an enclosed gym. Those seeking to soothe sore muscles can soak in the alfresco hot tub, one of two onboard.
The other hot tub is for the use of the owner. It’s on the owner’s deck, where naturally the owner has a good amount of space all to himself. Sun lounges accompany the hot tub outside, while inside the master suite allows waking up to ever-changing anchorages.
The owner and guests aboard Golden Yachts’ Project X can explore anchorages thanks to two guest tenders. One is a 33-foot (10-meter) Onda limo tender, while the other is a 29-foot (9-meter) classic-looking wooden tender from Pedrazzini.
If you plan to attend the Monaco Yacht Show next month, look for Golden Yachts’ Project X on display. If you miss her debut, you can still get aboard, since she’s for charter starting at $1.1 million per week.
