Two years after Overmarine Group announced the new “oceangoing glass villa” model in its Mangusta Oceano line, the first Mangusta Oceano 39 hull is already well under construction.
The entry-level model in the series is nearly 129 feet (39.2 meters) from bow to stern, but she’s a trideck, too. That, in combination with the abundance of floor-to-ceiling windows making her the above-mentioned oceangoing glass villa, help her look and feel even more voluminous. In fact, the sensation for the owners and guests when walking around onboard should belie her 299-gross-ton volume.
While the amount of glass onboard is noteworthy, its treatment is, too. Specifically, when you see the first Mangusta Oceano 39 hull finished, you’ll be able to see that the glass bulwarks are actually frameless in several areas. Additionally, the megayacht will have glass handrails. Designer Alberto Mancini and the shipyard management team chose these ideas so that no visual obstacles interfere with the scenery when cruising by or at anchor.
As if all of this glass weren’t enough, even more is seeing effective use onboard. For example, an infinity pool is on the sundeck. Yet another infinity pool lies on the foredeck, further with a semi-transparent floor. This allows daylight to filter down into the master suite directly below.
Although the shipyard hasn’t revealed the interior design highlights for the first Mangusta Oceano 39, the yacht can accommodate a party of 10. Overall, the series allows owners to tailor the interior materials and layout to their liking.
Finally, the series offers a choice of engines, depending on speed preferences. For clients who prefer more displacement-type speeds, a package should promise a 16-knot top end. For those wishing the advantages of fast displacement, the other propulsion package should allow a 21-knot maximum speed.
Hull number one of the Mangusta Oceano 39 series sees launch and delivery this year. Hull number two is under construction for yet another customer as well.
