Ever since the launch of the first skylounge Horizon FD model, Skyline, in 2018, all similarly equipped Horizon FD yachts bear the Skyline series name. That’s not to say, however, that every FD Skyline is the same. In fact, the owners of the FD 90 Skyline yacht Issimo customized theirs in an intensely personal way.
The name is the first hint. In Italian, issimo is a suffix that intensifies an adjective, making it a superlative descriptor (bella versus bellissimo, for instance). The American owners just so happen to have Italian heritage. Their inspiration came from feeling that the degree to which they could tailor the megayacht made for an exceptional experience.

Inside, those of you familiar with previous FD series deliveries will notice differences straight away. For example, the saloon and dining area have a little more separation, while remaining open plan. The owners chose a built-in, low china cabinet to delineate the two areas. Formal meals for 10 can be as fancy or casual as they wish, since a partition closes off the galley pass-through. Meanwhile, casually cool relaxation awaits in the saloon. A bar, complete with glassware display and liquor stowage, is nearby to port, while a TV is opposite. Walnut wood and midcentury modern furnishings (which the owners selected themselves) set the mood.
While previous Skyline customers have kept the standard aft-deck stairway to the flying bridge to starboard, the owners of Issimo chose otherwise. Entertainment clearly is important to them, since they opted for a wetbar. Dual stairs still lead down to the hi-lo swim platform and beach club, though. Wisely, they also kept access to the beach club from the crew’s quarters. The crew area, by the way, has a double cabin, a bunk cabin, and a head.

Speaking of cabins, yet another difference impacts the guest staterooms. Traditionally, you’d expect to find four guest staterooms below decks in a combination of twins and doubles. The FD series also traditionally places the master, with a long skylight, on the main deck. However, the owners of the yacht Issimo wanted just three VIP staterooms. This freed up space for a good-size laundry with an additional refrigerator and extra stowage. They still have their private oasis forward on the main deck, with a chaise lounge directly beneath the window to port.
Besides the above-mentioned aft-deck bar, the yacht Issimo caters to entertaining on her bridge deck. The skylounge has a convertible seating/dining area, and can become an indoor-outdoor space with the bar, dining area, and hot tub just outside. A backlit waterfall in the hot tub and space for loose lounge chairs when the tender is in the water makes the alfresco area even more inviting.

When you consider that Issimo is the first new build for her owners, the custom touches are all the more remarkable. Further consider that she’s hull number 27 in the Skyline series. Expect to see her cruising the Northeast, the Bahamas, and other regions throughout the rest of the year.
