Select Custom Line customers were the first to see the yacht Telli debut as the first Custom Line 38 in Venice, Italy last week. The grand celebration was more than just the project’s premiere. It was the reveal of new design standards for Custom Line’s Navetta line.
Firstly, this 127-footer (39-meter) does bear family resemblance to other models in the line, all with styling by Filippo Salvetti. The differences come in how owners and guests can enjoy spaces and time together. Surprisingly, despite her sleek profile, the megayacht has four decks of usable areas. Among the most notable, and prominently within customers’ view from daytime into the evening in Venice, the yacht Telli showed off a glass-lined main aft deck. Replacing what’s typically a solid bulkhead—with seating abutting it—with a transparent panel essentially eliminates feeling separated from the sea. Similarly, the glass allows the owners and guests to face aft and fully take in the scenery.
Speaking of taking in the scenery, another aspect of the new design direction is the beach club. Here again, the yacht Telli gave guests a good look at the particulars. She sat anchored with her transom platforms opened, revealing an aft-facing settee. Increasingly, superyacht shipyards and designers are giving owners open-air beach clubs instead of the tucked-away lounges of recent years. The settee configuration aboard the Navetta 38 allows several friends and family to sit together, right at the water’s edge. Altogether, the beach club and aft main deck comprise more than 753 square feet (70 square feet) of alfresco space with movable furniture.
Freestanding furnishings characterize the inside the yacht Telli, and the rest of the Custom Line Navetta 38 launches to come. Custom Line chose ACPV Architects to work with its in-house team on design details highlighting the sense of space. (Volume is 299 gross tons.) An abundance of natural materials like linen and parchment are available to owners, mixed and matched in two “moods,” too. Although Custom Line hasn’t indicated what the owner of Telli chose, the moods are cool vs. warm. Cool includes colors like navy blue and sky blue, for instance. Warm, meanwhile, incorporates creamy neutrals and similarly cozy colors.
Despite a master suite encompassing upwards of 431 square feet (40 square meters), though, most owners will prioritize outside enjoyment. The two most private areas are the sundeck and the foredeck lounge. Sunpads up top invite them to stretch out, while the adjacent hot tub is perfect for a soak. Following lunch in the shade of the hardtop, they certainly will consider taking a seat fully forward. Like the main aft deck, the yacht Telli and the hulls to follow have a glass bulkhead here. The views while underway at the anticipated top speed of 15 knots are sure to please.
