First came the Princess X95 (now the Princess X95 Vista), then the Princess X80 (bottom). Now Princess Yachts has added an in-between series, making its debut in 2026. Although the Princess X90 yacht bears resemblance to her sisterships, she has some differentiating characteristics.
The X-Class series styling and interior arrangements were dramatic departures for Princess when it conceived them with its design partners, Olesinski and Pininfarina, about five or six years ago. It was a deliberate choice, to create more usable space for customers. The X-Class projects have upper decks extending nearly the entire LOA, creating what the yard calls “super flybridge” yachts.
The new Princess X90 yacht continues that concept, with a few twists. She’s a cockpit motoryacht, a first for the British builder. The cockpit isn’t standard-looking, though, in keeping with the non-traditional overall styling. Instead, it has an aft glass parapet. In combination with fold-down bulwarks, it lends the sensation of much more space for the central seating area. Preserving the uninterrupted views, while simultaneously lending some safety, glass parapet sections flank the backs of the seats and link to the aft glass panel.
Since the cockpit is an ideal conversation area, the Princess X90 yacht has a wetbar on the starboard side and the option for a TV. Additionally—and another first for the builder—curved glass doors separate it from the interior. Of course, since so many cruisers love the indoor-outdoor lifestyle, those doors can remain open. This therefore makes the cockpit an extension of the immediately-inside dining area. Taking the notion even further, if you request the galley with a breakfast bar, nearly the entire main deck can be indoor-outdoor. (An enclosed galley is an alternate choice.)
We say “nearly” because the remaining space on the main deck is exclusively for owners. The master suite is forward, with wrap-around windows. Optionally, a gullwing door yields access to the foredeck lounge. Since anchoring gear sits recessed beneath the teak decking, you won’t be in the way of the crew.
Yet more flexibility makes the Princess X90 yacht stand out. Up on the flying bridge, for instance, multiple alfresco choices mixable and matchable. Forward, fore- and aft-facing seating flanks a coffee table—all converting into a giant sunpad. Just flip the backrests down. Aft, request a hot tub, a bar, a davit for a tender, or a fully open area for loose furnishings. Furthermore, the skylounge offers the ability add a day head and a massive 85-inch TV.
Several friends and family can join you to watch movies in the skylounge and accompany you on voyages, too. The standard layout includes three double guest staterooms below decks. An alternate arrangement creates two staterooms from a full-beam one.
Conveniently for crew, they have their own mess and galley below decks, with port-side access by the galley. Three cabins and one head are in their area below as well. Finally, the galley has a handy door to the port-side deck, making provisioning easier.
Princess Yachts has not disclosed the specifics of the various propulsion packages. However, it does anticipate a maximum 28 knots.
