Five years ago, Benetti introduced a notably different series, steel hulls for smaller superyachts intent on long-range cruising. The shipyard has kept the lid on further voyaging-oriented models until now. With the B.Yond 40M and B.Yond 57M, the Benetti B.Yond yacht series isn’t just bigger. It bears design from entirely different studios.

That first model five years ago was the 120-foot (36.5-meter) B.Yond 37M, an entirely in-house creation (and no longer offered). For the 131-foot B.Yond 40M and 187-foot B.Yond 57M, however, styling is by Igor Lobanov, and interiors are by Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture. With both studios, the shipyard strove for explorer-esque elements without veering too far from traditional Benetti flair. Lobanov blends soft and strong lines and plenty of automotive influences, for example. Grey superstructures pair with white hulls for both projects, too, to convey the adventurous side. Furthermore, the B.Yond 57M offers two different configurations for those with far-flung plans in mind. Firstly, the Water version (above) devotes aft-deck space to personal submarines and other exploring toys. Secondly, the Air configuration incorporates an elevated touch-and-go helipad, for scouting anchorages and epic scenery.

For more luxurious travels, though, the Benetti B.Yond yacht models each tick the boxes. The B.Yond 57M comes in a third version, Beach (above), purposely to appeal to more typical buyers. As the name Beach suggests, a big beach area dominates the aft deck, instead of the helipad or sub stowage. A pool takes center stage, too. With the B.Yond 40M, meanwhile, each of the four decks serves a different purpose, like wellness or socializing. A total of about 1,615 square feet (150 square meters) is set aside for socializing, in fact, with full-height windows to feel airier.

Yet additional differences distinguish the two models. With the B.Yond 40M, accommodating 10 in five staterooms, lighter tones set the mood. Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture has chosen bleached white oak, for instance, with a brushed finish to bring out the grain’s character. Of course, oak is a hardwood and therefore quite durable, should your adventures get quite adventurous. At the other side of the design spectrum, the B.Yond 57M is more dramatic. Because of the larger volume and therefore increased use of glass, the designers chose a carbon-black stain for wood. This lends a striking look to areas like the saloon, on the upper deck. It runs an impressive 71 feet (21.6 meters) in length, 1,238 square feet (115 square meters) in total, without interrupting views from fore to aft.

Both of the new Benetti B.Yond yacht projects rely on hybrid propulsion with battery banks. Hotel loads therefore can run overnight emissions- and sound-free, and cruising can adapt to varying needs by enlisting one or both engines.
