Having recently celebrated its 170th anniversary, Baglietto has a special commemorative timepiece. The Millemetri Baglietto 1854 watch is suitably nautical, too, and shares the shipyard’s Made in Italy heritage.
The timepiece is from Millemetri Firenze, which has its headquarters in Florence. Millemetri Firenze specializes in dive watches and gained fame in 2003. At that year’s Baselworld, a renown art and jewelry show, it introduced a watch made of marine bronze. In fact, the bronze was the very same material that comprised a wide variety of propellers—and even torpedo tubes aboard military vessels. Millemetri Firenze deliberately chose bronze for its corrosion resistance, but further for its pretty patina.
Fittingly, the Millemetri Baglietto 1854 watch features Baglietto’s famous seagull logo on the blue dial. Naturally, the leather wristband is Baglietto Blue. All components, of course, can resist the marine environment.
Learn more about the limited-run Millemetri Baglietto 1854 watch—and how to get one—in this month’s Megayacht News newsletter. Our newsletter, exclusively for subscribers, provides information each month that you won’t find here on the website. It contains information you’re certain to want to know, too. For example, you’ll learn about how Royal Huisman has developed a hydrogen-powered fuel-cell system for its sailing yachts. Importantly, the system has received recognition from Lloyd’s Register. In related news, the SEA Index, which helps owners measure carbon-dioxide emissions, has expanded its environmental-impact assessments to all types of fuel cells.
Furthermore, we also share how YachtAid Global and Y.CO are helping schools in Antigua get much-needed supplies next month. The two additionally are enlisting volunteers for another initiative, which you’re invited to join.
