Christophe Harbour Marina, the first superyacht marina in St. Kitts, has sold to Safe Harbor Marinas.
Years in the making, Christophe Harbour Marina opened in 2015. It’s the brainchild of Buddy Darby, a superyacht owner and property developer who has been the chief executive officer from the start. Having cruised the Caribbean extensively, he noted that St. Kitts remained mostly undeveloped. It further offered natural protection from strong storms. The ability to work with the government to develop a place for transient and homeporting yachts, some being quite significant in size, held strong appeal.

Christophe Harbor Marina offers around-the-clock dock access, with slips for yachts to 250 feet (76 meters). An alongside pier can accommodate yachts to 377 feet (115 meters), too. On-site customs and immigration services, along with in-slip fueling and a wide turning basin, are further benefits. Of course, so are the upland developments, including a golf course, hotel, residences (below), restaurants, and the Christophe Harbour Club, which includes beach, golf, and yacht clubs.
St. Kitts’ proximity to Nevis and other treasured Eastern Caribbean destinations have made the marina an easy stop. “St. Kitts is 30 nautical miles from St. Barths,” notes Carolina Corral, senior vice president at Safe Harbor Marinas. “We are thrilled to continue growing our footprint throughout the most popular cruising areas.” This includes two properties in Puerto Rico. Specifically, Safe Harbor Puerto Del Rey is in Fajardo, while Safe Harbor San Juan is in the capital city. The Puerto Del Rey property additionally is the Caribbean’s largest marina, with upwards of 1,200 slips.

“We are excited to offer our captains and crew another location that provides the amenities and service they have come to expect at our facilities,” says Christian Denhard, senior vice pesident at Safe Harbor Marinas.
