Twelve years ago, Quay Crew opened its doors as a crew recruiter. In the ensuing years, it has fielded and fulfilled requests for other services, too, from owners’ teams and fellow yachting professionals. The UK-based company therefore has rebranded as Quay Group, uniting four divisions with dedicated teams. This will allow it to continue working not only in yachting, but also with family offices and other private clients.
It’s not surprising that some owners and their representatives have asked for assistance in other respects. Household staff positions are sometimes similar to those on yachts. Many crewmembers seek shoreside jobs, too, when they decide to leave the sea. In fact, it’s common to see them take positions with estates, restaurants, and marine businesses. According to Quay Group, it’s placed more than 2,000 individuals on more than 350 superyachts. Simultaneously, the team has worked with some of the world’s most well-known shipyards, yacht-management companies, and yacht owners. High-profile family offices and private estates are also among the clients over the years.

Specifically, Quay Group brings together Quay Crew, Quay Maritime, Quay Estates, and Quay Family Office. Quay Crew, of course, remains focused on finding and placing superyacht crew. The staff has deep experience with and understanding of entry-level crewmember duties straight up to captains. Quay Maritime, meanwhile, provides assistance to shipyards, maritime service providers, and yacht-management companies. It finds skilled professionals for land positions who have, for instance, experience in yacht operations or corporate offices.
The remaining two divisions, Quay Estates and Quay Family Office, tap into skills honed with Quay Crew. Quay Estates fulfills needs for individuals who understand how high levels of service are expected of butlers, estate managers, and more. As for Quay Family Office, the staff can place personal assistants, executive assistants, and even CFOs.
“This evolution to Quay Group represents an important milestone in our journey from a single-focus recruiter to a multi-division agency serving a wider network of UHNW clients and professionals,” says Tim Clarke, Quay Group’s director (above, also pictured with fellow director Caroline Clarke at top). Notably, the company will continue producing research and industry insight reports for both yachting and UHNW employment sectors.
