The New Year is starting off on the right foot for one couple, who posed with Broward Marine’s management and craftsmen in front of their new 124-footer Coco Loco just before she went into the water a few days ago at the yard’s Dania Beach, Florida, facility.
The raised-pilothouse megayacht is the second launch in Broward’s 120 series, featuring exterior styling and interior design by Evan Marshall in cooperation with the yard’s own design team. Coco Loco features walk-around decks, a sporty hardtop, and an extra-long swim platform intended to make launch of the two PWCs that are stowed in recessed, teak-covered compartments easier. Inside, four guest staterooms below decks accommodate eight friends and family, with separate crew’s quarters for up to six, while the owners get the forward portion of the main deck. Twin 2,000-hp MTUs should permit Coco Loco a mid-20-knot top speed.
While Broward puts the finishing touches on Coco Loco, it’s also working on two 128-foot Global series yachts, with a third expected to start construction soon. These models accommodate the same number of guests as the 120 series but have the capacity for upwards of nine crew, if needed. They should also see higher speeds, toward the 30-knot range.
