You’ll have to excuse the staff at Sunreef Yachts for being excited if you speak with them. It’s the only shipyard in the world to have two catamarans measuring more than 100 feet LOA under construction simultaneously.
The hull for the larger of the two, the Sunreef 114, was recently turned and repositioned inside the Polish yard’s shed, in preparation for the superstructure to be attached, as it’s nearing completion. The interior furnishings are also under construction. Once the flying bridge is fitted, insulation of each hull’s accommodations area will take place, followed by the construction of floor supports and the electrical systems. The megayacht should be ready for delivery this winter.
If you’ve never seen a hull get turned before, it’s a slow and steady process. The following sequence of photos will give you a good idea of what it’s all about.
