When it comes to megayacht names, the principle “keep it simple” makes a lot of sense. So what better name for a watertoy than Toy-A, right? That’s the nameboard gracing the first launch of the year for Mondomarine.
Styled by Giorgio Vafiadis, the 49-meter (161-foot) Toy-A was conceived for soaking up the Mediterranean sun. As a result, she has a decided emphasis on outdoor areas, like one forward of the wheelhouse. There’s also a sundeck, of course, with a bar, barbecue, dining for 12, and even a solarium containing a Jacuzzi tub. The owner plus 10 guests can relax inside in the traditional main-deck saloon, skylounge, and staterooms – the owner’s suite being forward on the main deck, a VIP being on the upper deck, and the remaining four double guest staterooms being down one level.

Cruising from port to port will be a simple task, thanks to twin 2,735-hp MTUs that should permit a 20-knot top speed and 18-knot cruise speed. Toy-A’s range at 12 knots is said to be about 3,300 nautical miles.
While Mondomarine puts the final touches on Toy-A, it continues work on Alexander Two (41 meters, or about 135 feet) and Streamline 2 (50 meters, of 164 feet), both of which are expected to hit the water by the end of the summer.
