A repeat client broke the traditional bubbly across the bow of this sailing yacht at Alloy Yachts earlier this week.
Christened Imagine II, she comes seven years after her owners took delivery of their first Imagine from Alloy. That one measured 33.6 meters (110 feet), while Imagine II is 44.2 meters (145 feet). Both are designed by Dubois Naval Architects and boast sleek lines and a large cockpit. Both also emphasize good racing ability, though the Alloy and Dubois teams each expect Imagine II to outperform her sister—and other sailing yachts of her size range—partly due to the technology available today. Alloy hasn’t released specific details on performance, though the yacht’s specs do call for 3,228 square meters of sail area, from North Sails.
Fitted with her Southern Spars mast the day after this photo was taken (in which she was being floated to Viaduct Harbour in Auckland), Imagine II will remain in the water for the rest of her outfitting. Her owners, who will be able cruise with four guests and eight crew aboard, will take delivery in several weeks.
