More encouraging news on the new-build front: A 164-footer (50-meter) that stopped construction at Trinity Yachts when the economic crisis hit is back on track.
Referred to by her hull number, T059, the owner signed the original contract for the all-aluminum megayacht in late 2007. She was intended to include four guest staterooms and a main-deck master suite, plus room for toys aft on her uppermost deck, which also included a bar. The owner and Trinity Yachts agreed to cease work in August 2009.
The new anticipated delivery date will be in 2012. The interior designer, René van der Velden, remains the same, though some features will change, as will some systems and other technology-related items.
The restart of T059 marks eight yachts underway at Trinity. It recently delivered Mia Elise, measuring the same length, to a repeat client. She’ll be on display at this week’s Fort Lauderdale boat show, as will Mi Sueño and Big Zip (43 meters, or 142 feet).
