Eight may be enough for some people, but not for Heesen Yachts. The Dutch shipyard marked the launch of Lady L, its eighth 44m Semi-Displacement series superyacht, earlier this month.
The 146’10” (44.77-meter) all-aluminum megayacht was started on spec, as is tradition at Heesen Yachts. She was initially referred to as Heesen YN 15944, which is her hull number, and then became known as Project Zentric last November, when she was sold. She bears a 29’6” beam and 9’3” draft (9 and 2.81 meters, respectively).
Lady L bears the same styling, by Omega Architects, as previous launches in Heesen’s 44m Semi-Displacement series. These include Sedation, My Petra, and Jems. The ABS-classed Lady L stands apart due to her paint scheme, with a combination of deep blue and dark grey on her hull. Inside, Omega Architects is working with the owner on an Art Deco-inspired decor (pictured), which is intended to make the accommodations for 10 feel tranquil. The open nature of the main deck should as well, since the saloon and dining areas aren’t walled off from one another in the more formal arrangements commonly seen.
Whether Lady L is at her anticipated top speed of 25 knots or best-range cruise speed of 12 knots, guests will surely spend abundant time outdoors. (Those speeds come courtesy of twin MTU 16V 4000 M90s, by the way.) There are alfresco dining spots aft on the main and upper decks, plus an intimate seating area on the foredeck. Of course, there’s also the sundeck, boasting 484 square feet (45 square meters) of usable space.
Lady L is set for delivery later this year.
