Two repeat customers have come back to Christensen Shipyards for larger megayachts, while another client has sold a just-started megayacht.
The latter project is the one pictured, a 160 Custom Series announced in February of this year. She’ll actually look a bit different, as her color scheme is changing. The new deal was made via Merle Wood & Associates, which represented the new owners. Set for delivery in January 2014, the megayacht accommodates 12 in the owner’s party in five guest staterooms below decks and a main-deck master suite. She’ll feature high-gloss walnut wood, similar to several previous Christensen projects, along with custom stonework created by the shipyard’s in-house stone specialists. An elevator will connect each of the decks, and a fixed hardtop will shade part of the sundeck. Based on what the original owner wanted, the megayacht should also have a 10-person crew.
As for the two repeat Christensen customers, each has commissioned a 164 Custom Series megayacht. The 164 Custom Series is similar to the 160 Custom Series, further featuring a fold-out balcony off the skylounge, larger alfresco areas across all decks, and wrap-around glass in the saloon. The 164 Custom Series will additionally comply with the new LY3 (Large Commercial Yacht Code) regulations of the MCA, which have updated requirements for galley fire protection, passenger elevators, crew’s quarters, polar operations, and more. One of the megayachts is being christened Chasseur, featuring bleached sycamore, teak and cream woods, and more within a minimalist decor by VARO Interior Design. She’ll be delivered in December 2014. The other 164 Custom Series will be named Trifecta, which is fitting, as she’ll be the third Christensen for her owner, John Rosatti. You may recall that he owns a Christensen 162, Remember When, and previously commissioned the Christensen 157 Nice N Easy. Trifecta will have a gray hull and a modern interior style highlighted by maple and sycamore woods, plus metal and onyx inlays in the custom stonework. We’ll have to wait until delivery in September 2015 to get a peek at other special features.
