Following the debut of its largest flying bridge megayacht, La Pellegrina, Couach is building a new model, the 2600 Fly.
The 2600 Fly features naval architecture by Couach’s in-house team and Exequiel Cano-Lanza of CLYD/Cano Lanza Yacht Design, the same firm behind La Pellegrina and all other Couach yachts since 2005. The “Fly” part of the model name refers to the flying bridge, shaded by a hardtop with an opening center panel. Overall, the megayacht has sporty appeal.
In keeping with its longstanding tradition, Couach is employing fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar as construction materials for the 86’9” (26.5-meter) yacht. Also in keeping with tradition, the 2600 Fly should see a good turn of speed. Couach expects cruise to be 22 knots and top end to be 32 knots, with your choice of twin 1,800-hp MANs or 1,900-hp Caterpillar C32s, the latter available with ZF pod drives. Fuel consumption at cruise speed should be about 92½ gallons per hour (350 liters per hour), permitting a 700-nautical-mile range. With speed dialed down a few knots, range should increase to 1,000 nautical miles. Plenty of skinny-water ports should be able to be visited, given the 4’9” (1.5-meter) draft.
Accommodations-wise, the main-deck master makes the most of the 20’7” (6.3-meter) beam. Eight guests get four staterooms below decks: a VIP, a queen, and a twin. Two crew cabins for four crewmembers will also be aboard, aft of the engine room. No info is available on the decor. However, the yacht will additionally tote a tender and a PWC.
The first Couach 2600 Fly debuts next year.
