Part of the Fipa Group, Italy-based AB Yachts recently delivered its latest AB 116. The AB Yachts AB 116 is part of a seven-model lineup of fiberglass, waterjet-equipped yachts and megayachts. Like her smaller sisters and her new big sister, the AB 140, the AB Yachts AB 116 embraces styling as racy as her performance. How racy? Top end is reportedly in the mid- to high-40-knot range, given the above-mentioned waterjets being coupled to triple 2,400-hp MTUs.
Of course, megayacht buyers like AB Yachts’ AB 116 for more than just her speed. A signature element aboard is the atrium-like TV lounge. It’s a few steps below the main helm (a triple-seat helm, of course), and its headroom rises fully to the main deck. You wouldn’t expect to find a space as voluminous as this aboard a yacht with such a sleek profile.
Buyers further like the semi-custom nature of the AB 116. In fact, as you can see in the photos, which we first shared on the Megayacht News Facebook page last week, the newest AB 116 has a combination of a casually chic and artistically executed decor. It’s a strong contrast from the more traditionally finished, warm-toned wood look of the first AB 116 and yet another AB 116 delivery about a year ago, which featured bright pops of color.
