Zuccon SuperYacht Design has a third concept yacht it’s promoting to potential clients. She’s the ZSYD 55 Febo. LOA: 180 feet (55 meters). Initial word was released in March, but this is the first time the interior is being shown.
Zuccon SuperYacht Design was formed last year as the megayacht division of Zuccon International Project. If you’re wondering what “Febo” in “ZSYD 55 Febo” means, it’s another name for Phoebus. He’s the Greek god of light. (Phoebus is also considered another name for Apollo.) The ZSYD 55 Febo certainly emphasizes light. Note the full-height glass around amidships in the profile rendering below. It’s on both the main deck and upper deck. Further light-oriented are quite large horizontal ports below decks.
You get the best sense of the use of light in the saloon rendering above. The ZSYD 55 Febo has sliding glass doors and a balcony-like area with loungers. Similar sliding doors are opposite (not shown), too. Further images are forthcoming. For now, we can tell you that the megayacht should accommodate 10 to 12 people. The design studio is considering up to five guest staterooms, plus an owner’s apartment.
Also being considered for the ZSYD 55 Febo: hybrid propulsion. The more popular choice will likely be traditional diesels. Zuccon SuperYacht Design has studied twin Caterpillar C32 engines and says a 15-knot top speed should be possible. The megayacht features a full-displacement hull with a bulbous bow for comfort and efficiency. Zuccon SuperYacht Design likes the interplay of a slick-looking yacht and a leisurely performing one.
While the design studio continues to finalize details, something it’s set on is abundant alfresco space. The ZSYD 55 Febo is intended to make owners and guests indulge in the outdoors more than the indoors.
