CRN 132 was christened Yalla on May 31, to great fanfare. Note the release of balloons in the colors of the Italian flag in the photo. More than 1,000 people were also on hand for the festivities. They ranged from the owners’ family to CRN executives and craftspeople to residents of CRN’s base in Ancona, Italy.
Yalla measures 239’5” (73 meters) and bears design by Omega Architects. It’s interesting to note that this is the first time the Dutch studio and CRN have collaborated. Clearly, the owners are fans of the firm’s designs, as Omega Architects further designed a limo tender for Yalla. Netherlands-based Hutting Yachts built the tender, which wrapped up sea trials in April. On a related note, several years ago the owners had a same-named yacht built by Heesen Yachts and designed by Omega Architects.
Yalla will be undergoing sea trials herself in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the 41-foot-beam (12.5-meter-beam) megayacht is receiving final interior fit-out at CRN. She rises five decks high and bears interior design by Droulers Architecture. The Italian company has experience mostly in residential and commercial architecture. So far only a few details are available about her interior. She’ll have accommodations for 12, including customarily larger suites for the owners and a VIP. Twenty-two crew will further be aboard.
Yalla should be handed over in September. To date, CRN says, 430,000 man-hours have gone into the megayacht’s build. And, of course, work continues on other megayachts at the shipyard. These include three CRNs from 180 to 243 feet (55 to 74 meters). They also include two yachts for sister companies of CRN. One is the Ferretti Custom Line 124. The other is the Riva Mythos 122, which is nearly complete.
