Admiral Tecnomar is keeping a busy pace this year. Flying Dragon, which splashed last week, is the third megayacht launch so far. If you count a barge the builder produced, Flying Dragon is the fourth launch of the year. Either way, she’s part of the Admiral Regale 45 series.
The Admiral Regale 45 series is characterized by all-aluminum construction. The series also promises swift speeds, from the high 20s to low 30s in knots. LOA is 146’10” (44.8 meters). Beam is a comfortable 26’9″ (8.2 meters).
If the turquoise hull paint of Flying Dragon doesn’t grab your attention, the large dragon emblazoned on both sides of her hull will. That graphic is courtesy of the artists at Dobroserdov Design. Styling overall is from Luca Dini Design. Imagine the effect when Flying Dragon is moving along at her anticipated top end around 27 knots. Power comes from twin 4,243-hp MTUs. A raised-pilothouse megayacht, Flying Dragon looks sleekly swift even while docked.
The owners and charter guests alike will enjoy time aboard Flying Dragon. (She’ll charter via the central listing of Nakhimov.) Sliding doors around amidships in the saloon bring the outdoors in. The same is true of a fold-down balcony to starboard off the main-deck master suite.
The general arrangement onboard is pretty traditional. Four guest staterooms are below decks, with two being doubles and two being twins. The saloon and dining area share floorspace on the main deck. Crew are housed fully forward below decks. They get three double cabins. The captain is down here, too, as is the galley. Sunning, socializing, and soaking are the orders of the day on the sundeck, given lounges, a dining table, and a hot tub.
Decor-wise, Flying Dragon is quite luxe. Rich-stained woods, including chocolate-tone parquet soles and dark furnishings, are paired with black marble, red onyx, blue onyx, and white onyx in different areas. The white onyx on the bars on both the aft deck and sundeck is particularly striking. It tops and fronts each bar and is backlit. Thirteen-foot by 6’6” (4-meter by 2-meter) wood panels provide a decorative backdrop to the dining area. The 55-inch TV in the master is hidden behind a mirror when not in use. Also of note aboard Flying Dragon: the Yin-Yang symbol, the most well-known of all the Taoist symbols. It’s found in the teak lining the underside of the hardtop. (The Yin-Yang symbol consists of two teardrop shapes that form a circle, with one teardrop in white and the other in black.)
We’ll have a full Megayacht News Onboard report on Flying Dragon following her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
