Wakeboarding is a favored pursuit for many a private and charter megayacht guest. While crewmembers stand ready to take the guests out, what if you didn’t need their assistance? Enter Radinn, a Swedish company. It’s readying the electric-powered, waterjet-propelled Wakejet Cruise for shipping to buyers worldwide this fall.
Radinn considers the Wakejet Cruise a wakeboard, but likens the sensation more to that of a snowboard. In addition, you, rather than a tender towing you, control your speed. You do so via a wireless, push-button remote. Radinn says the Wakejet Cruise can hit a top speed just shy of 29 mph (26 kph). At that full tilt, the Wakejet Cruise’s battery will last only half an hour, though, so consider reining in your enthusiasm. The good news: The battery recharges in reportedly one hour.
Pricing: €15,000 (about $16,664 at press time). Included is the board, battery pack and its charger, remote, induction charger for the remote, and a tote bag fitted with wheels. Orders placed now should arrive in November.
Furthermore, Radinn’s partner for North and South America plus the Caribbean, Radinn America, is opening a Wakejet Cruise showroom in Miami Beach in October.
