Talk about enjoying life in the fast lane. The owners of the latest AB 100 launched at AB Yachts should see a top speed of 52 knots during their first summer cruising season. This, thanks to triple 1,900-hp MANs (with waterjets, a hallmark of the brand, and a booster).
AB Yachts further emphasizes lightweight construction to enhance performance. The AB 100 is built entirely of fiberglass with Kevlar and carbon fiber. Even while at a more subdued cruising speed of “only” 44 knots, the megayacht should still catch the eye of passers-by. It’s further due to the metallic silver tones of the hull and superstructure.
Ideal places to take in those speedy sensations include the foredeck seating area, the aft deck, and the flying bridge. Each of those same alfresco spaces includes a sunbed, too—better suited to use at-anchor or no-wake speeds, of course. The AB 100 offers yet another outdoor relaxation spot for using at anchor. It’s the beach club/tender garage.
Bearing a 22’3” (6.8-meter) beam, the AB 100 has accommodations for eight in the owners’ party and four crew. You’ll find a traditional layout, with all staterooms below decks. The master, full beam, is complemented by a VIP and two doubles. The crew area, fully forward, also includes the galley, doubling as the crew mess.
The owners of this AB 100 selected shades of grey for the decor on the main and lower decks. This even includes the helm, featuring dove-grey leather. The highlight, though, is surely the dining table. It’s topped with marble. That should make quite the conversation piece, other than the 75-inch TV separating the dining area from the saloon.
