ISA Yachts is well known for offering super-sporty styling. So, the Extra 76 may catch you by surprise. And that’s the point. This new model, the first of a full new range, conveys the more leisurely, long-range cruising at her core.
With styling by Francesco Guida, the ISA Extra 76 measures about 76 feet (23 meters). While that’s just shy of megayacht measurements, the Italian builder purposely selected a smaller size. It’s striving for a more manageable length, for owners and guests who crave close connections to the cruising environment. That’s also why the Extra 76 has large ports, both vertical and horizontal, along her main deck. In fact, the rendering below reveals wrap-around glass that’s nearly full height in some spots.
To see the real strength of the above-mentioned cruising connection, though, look closer at the aft deck. The space extends much farther than the aft decks of most similar-size yachts. In fact, it extends farther than the aft decks aboard even larger megayachts. The Extra 76 has a partially shaded, partially open alfresco area that gently slopes all the way down to the swim platform. The upper part, beneath the overhang of the flying bridge, features a dining table. Down two steps, a U-shape settee and table cater to post-dinner (or maybe also pre-sunset) cocktails and conversation. Guests wishing to work on their tan can stretch out on the sunpad positioned just above the swim platform.
More sunning space awaits on the Extra 76 flying bridge. A sunpad wraps around the helm. Complementing it, there’s also an L-shape settee and dining table.
ISA Yachts hasn’t yet revealed the anticipated performance figures for the Extra 76. It also hasn’t provided, or posted on its website, suggested interior arrangements. However, given yachts of similar LOAs, surely you can expect at least two guest staterooms accompanying a full-beam master stateroom below decks. In addition, the Extra 76 will certainly have crew’s quarters, perhaps for two hands plus the captain.
