Capitalizing on the interest in venturing well beyond the Caribbean and Mediterranean cruising grounds, Lynx Yachts is launching a new yacht range called the Adventure Series. The Adventure 32, the first model, reveals the series’ emphasis on long range and abundant deck space for toys and relaxation.
With an LOA of 106’6” (32.5 meters), the Adventure 32 is unusual in having a steel hull. However, Lynx Yachts intends to attract buyers “hungry for new experiences and eager to explore the world,” explains sales and marketing manager Filippo Rossi. Since those trips might involve heavy seas, the megayacht has a high bow and raked wheelhouse windows. Naval architecture, by Diana Yacht Design, follows suit. Anticipated range at the 13½-knot cruising speed should be 2,000 nautical miles. The most efficient range, 2,700 nautical miles, should come at 11 knots. The twin 1,000-hp Caterpillar engines additionally should permit a top speed of 15 knots.
If you’re familiar with Lynx Yachts, the Adventure 32’s styling is likely also familiar. From Bernd Weel Design, it stems from that of the Dutch yard’s support-craft series, the Lynx YXT (Yacht X Tender). However, this new project is a primary yacht, meant for an owner’s party of eight or 10. Crew-to-guest ratios will be 1:1 either way. While customers are encouraged to personalize the spaces, Lynx Yachts does have two layouts, depending on the ultimate guest count.
The two layouts do share a few features, though. For example, the Adventure 32 devotes 646 square feet (60 square meters) just off the swim platform to holding tenders and toys. With the space clear at anchor, the crew can set up lounge chairs, for a fully alfresco beach club. A sunpad perched just above, along with seating arrangements, complement the relaxed mode. So, too, does the indoor-outdoor lounge up one more deck, just aft of the wheelhouse. When guests do want to stay inside, the 23-foot (7-meter) beam should feel extra comfortable in the saloon, thanks to full-height glass.
The Adventure 32 isn’t the only model in the works. Lynx Yachts plans to unveil the Adventure 24 and Adventure 38 in the coming months. They measure about 79 feet (24 meters) and 125 feet (38 meters), respectively.
