Yacht enthusiasts in South Florida will get long looks at hull number one of the Custom Line 120 series throughout all of next year. Just launched in Italy, she’s set for delivery by the end of next month, then making Miami her home port.
The semi-custom megayacht, whose LOA is actually 126 feet (38.36 meters), features styling by Francesco Paszkowski Design. She therefore represents the first time his studio and Custom Line are collaborating. Paszkowski blends soft and sporty lines, along with cues from automotive design and even architecture, two significant influences for all of his work.
Also marking a first for the shipyard, the Custom Line 120 uses resin-infusion construction for the hull. It makes for a lighter yacht. The builder employs carbon fiber, too, for strength without adding weight. Considering good speed is a cornerstone of many Custom Line models, it should pay off. The Custom Line 120 should cruise at 22 knots and top out at 25 knots, for example, with twin MTUs.
We don’t yet know what woods and stones the owner selected. However, we do know Margherita Casprini and Francesco Paszkowski oversaw interior layout and design. Four guest staterooms sit below decks, with the master spanning the 25-foot (7.65-meter) beam on the main deck. In addition, the saloon should feel part of the alfresco atmosphere, thanks to the sliding glass doors between it and the aft deck. Each door—further raked, for a dramatic look—can open separately, for flexibility.
Not forgetting how much guests like spending time outside, the Custom Line 120 has abundant options on the main deck and flying bridge. Forward, terraced seating and lounging let a crowd spread out, without getting in the way of crew. Up top, a hot tub and dining await.
Following delivery, hull number one will primarily cruise Floridian and Caribbean waters, both on private trips and charters.
In the meantime, the shipyard continues work on hulls two and three in the Custom Line 120 series.
