With a plethora of tenders available for megayachts, at times it may seem they all blur together. Styling gets copied, to where you can’t distinguish one brand from another. Also, many tout luxurious travel from the mother ship to the dock. Whatever happened to making a tender just for pure fun—and for the entire owner’s party to enjoy that fun together? MasterCraft Boats UK, the superyacht tenders division of MasterCraft, has a solution to consider. It’s the MasterCraft XT25, with a passenger capacity of (count ‘em) 18.
A hair over 25 feet (7.7 meters) in length, this boat is the first new model of 2018 from the longstanding American boatbuilder. In fact, MasterCraft celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Plenty of waterskiing and other watersports enthusiasts have bought its boats as primary vessels over the years, but it’s also made inroads into the megayacht tender market. To that end, the tenders division tailors the boats to customers’ requests. These include exterior color schemes, seating color schemes, and lifting points for your davit to handle launch and retrieval.
In terms of standard features, the MasterCraft XT25 has the same hull design as the rest of the XT lineup. This means it creates wakes to thrill wakeboarders, while additionally letting you or your crewmembers throw smoother waves for waterskiing. In addition, the builder has its own flanking rudder system, to make maneuvering in and out of tight marinas easier. All you need to do next is crank up the Klipsch Audio sound system, and you can start the party.
Michael Hardicker, managing director of MasterCraft Boats UK, even calls the XT25 a party boat. It’s due to extra rear-facing seating compared to other models, which brings the seating capacity to 18. This additional seating is ideal for those who want to watch family or friends surf the wake, of course. But, it’s also ideal for straightforward socializing while exploring shorelines. “This new model will be ideal for large groups and particularly for superyacht charters, where entertaining and maximizing fun on the water are important elements,” he comments. “And with space for up to 18, it can double up for limousine duty, too.”
As for the new rear-facing seating, the MasterCraft XT25 gives you design options. In the standard configuration, a port-side seat flips up, further converting into a benchseat. In the optional offering, a starboard-side seat pulls up. Thanks to a raising backrest, it, too, converts into a benchseat. Either way, the boat gives you about seven feet (2.2 meters) of interior beam. Maximum molded beam is 8’5” (2.59 meters).
The MasterCraft XT25 additionally comes with the factory-backed five-year warranty, covering the entire boat.
