Promising an unusually long range for a motoryacht of her size, the first Kando 110 is out in the daylight at AvA Yachts. The shipyard towed her from her build shed the last week of June.
An entirely in-house project, the Kando 110 actually started as a custom megayacht. However, the shipyard team saw an opportunity for a series.
One of the things setting the yacht apart, for example, is the construction. The Kando 110 has a steel hull, along with an aluminum superstructure. Fiberglass, of course, dominates the megayacht market in this size range (110 feet, or 33.6 meters). Also different, the yacht has a large fuel capacity, of 11,888 gallons (45,000 liters). In combination with 650-hp Volvo Penta diesel engines, this means she should achieve 6,400 nautical miles at 10 knots. AvA Yachts believes this surprising range, plus Bureau Veritas unrestricted-navigation classification and MCA compliance, will attract serious cruisers.
Serious cruisers should also note a healthy volume of 340 tons and a four-deck layout. Owners get a customary main-deck master stateroom, plus four guest staterooms all below decks. Warm walnut and wenge woods feature throughout the relaxation areas onboard, too. Beam for the Kando 110: 23’6” (7.2 meters).
Meanwhile, work continues on hull number two, for former NBA superstar Tony Parker. She’s still in the early stages of construction. Hull number three, however, is available, for delivery late next year. In addition, AvA Yachts has further “Kando” models available, such as the Kando 90.
