If someone told you a 125-foot (38-meter) megayacht had about 7,040 square feet (654 square meters) of relaxation and entertaining areas, you might question the statement. But, Sunreef Yachts is making it possible with its latest catamaran concept, the 40M Sunreef Explorer.
While not an explorer in terms of visiting ice-laden waters, the megayacht nonetheless has ocean-crossing capabilities, according to the shipyard. While a few propulsion options are in mind, Sunreef Yachts has not published the details at this point. Regardless, as you would expect of a multihull configuration, the megayacht additionally should be stable in rough seas. This makes her more attractive to the ever-growing number of cruisers who want to travel farther afield.
That twin-hull configuration also means the 40M Sunreef Explorer has an expansive beam. It stretches 44 feet (13.34 meters), in fact. In combination with three livable decks, this allows for wide-open rooms as much as cozy corners. Since Poland-based Sunreef Yachts builds its megayachts on a semi-custom basis, multiple personalized configurations are possible.
Naturally, to jumpstart your imagination, the builder has several suggestions. For instance, the 40M Sunreef Explorer can feature a main-deck master suite with a private balcony deploying off one side. Wellness aficionados can request a steam room. For families with kids, the catamaran can have a playroom. Grown-up kids can enjoy the playroom, too, thanks to a self-leveling pool table. Children and adults of all ages and abilities, meanwhile, will appreciate abundant watertoy stowage. The 40M Sunreef Explorer holds up to a 23-foot-long (7-meter-long) tender, alongside two PWCs and smaller toys or gear. Sunning and soaking on deck, meanwhile, come courtesy of huge sunpads surrounding a hot tub. Finally, a hydraulic fold-down platform fully aft transforms the transom into a full-beam beach club.
Sunreef, which recently announced its first-ever project with Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, is handling all naval architecture in house.
